Around 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the region, producing strong winds topping 109 kilometers per hour.

Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Damage

Locals observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.

Southern State's Climate Difficulties

Damp conditions were expected to linger along large portions of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.

Tomorrow was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both states.

Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
